Producer Spotlight
The BelGioioso story began over a century ago, when the great-grandfather of the current BelGioioso President, Errico Auricchio, founded a cheese company centered on principles of philosophy of excellence. In 1979, Errico moved his family from Italy to America with the goal of continuing his great-grandfather’s legacy. With the goal of crafting the best Italian cheeses in the United States, Errico scoured the country in search of the highest quality milk to make his cheeses with. His search ended when he found the superior milk of Winsconsin, “America’s Dairyland.” With the milk of America’s Dairyland and the expertise of Mauro and Gianni, two master cheesemakers with an unending passion for using artisanal methods to craft flavorful cheeses who accompanied Errico, BelGioioso was primed for success. During BelGioioso’s first years of operation, Errico, Gianni, and Mauro exclusively made cheeses familiar to American consumers, until a demand gew for new cheeses, flavors, and aromas. Today, BelGioioso manufacturers, ages, packages, and ships over twenty five varieties of specialty cheese with new cheese continuously in development.
