    Applewood smoked bacon slab by Nueskes is a whole, unsliced premium pork belly that has been prepared according to a traditional Old World recipe handed down for over three generations. Smoking for at least 24 hours over genuine applewood embers helped this bacon slab develop a rich, smoky flavor that has earned it multiple awards from the N.A.S.F.T. Additionally, this smoked bacon slab has been awarded four prestigious Gold sofi™ Awards for superior taste and quality from the Specialty Food Association.

    • Suggested Applications: Because Applewood Smoked Bacon Slab by Nueske's can be sliced to a desired thickness, it is commonly used in deli cases or by chefs. Its excellent flavor is perfectly suited for use with soups, salads, appetizers, wraps & sandwiches, pasta, pizza, quiches, or any breakfast dish, and it can be eaten all by itself. Applewood Smoked Bacon Slab by Nueske's is also great when wrapped around other meats.
    • Serving Instructions: Slice to desired thickness, place slices in an unheated skillet. Cook over medium-low heat, turning frequently until desired doneness is attained. You can also dice and cook in a similar manner for toppings or to add to other recipes.
    • Oven Baking: Preheat oven to 350°F. Place bacon slices close together, but not overlapping, on a rimmed baking sheet. Bake for 20 minutes or until desired doneness is achieved. There is no need to turn bacon during oven baking.

    Nueske’s family ancestors first arrived in Wisconsin in 1882, bringing with them European skills for applewood smoking and dozens of recipes for spicing and curing meat. The foundation for what would eventually become a family business was laid in 1933, when R.C. Nueske found that local smoked meats weren’t as good as what his family made. This realization led to him marketing his smoked bacon, ham, poultry, and sausage to anyone and everyone, loading his first delivery truck with meats and taking to the road to advertise his new smoked meat business. R.C. Nueske passed on everything he knew to his sons, and for eight decades Nueske’s has continued to improve production, upgrading their plant and equipment as necessary. While they may have changed their tools, the processes and ingredients they used remained the same, staying true to the tradition set by Grandpa R.C. Nueske to this day.
